Hello. My name is Nicola.
If you’re reading this you may feel you’re in need of a space of safety, freedom or reflection. It might feel hard to reach out to people around you for this, or you might need support from an independent and unbiased source. My practice can support you in this way. Whether its navigating a live-altering situation or decision, or finding the strength to make change.
Unlike most counsellors, I prefer not to stick to any one specific approach or way of working, I aim to use my training and experience to offer you what you need in this moment and as an individual. As client you have the space to pause, reflect and be curious about your experiences in life and enrich yourself, though connection and dialogue, and we will work together to get you to where you want to be.
My practice is a space for uncensored self-exploration. Here you can navigate your feelings, wants and needs and where these originate from to gain a clear perception of yourself, ultimately leading to psychological growth and increased wellbeing. Sharing your story in a kind, non-judgemental space can give rise to strength and growth. Being seen and heard can empower you to face the challenges of life.
Here is some examples of the issues I can support you with:
Stress or low self-esteem
Navigating strong emotions , such as anger or jealousy
Bullying
Difficulties at work
Relationship issues
Navigating sexual or gender identity
I have particular interest and a rich experience of supporting people with anxiety and bereavement and loss
My practice is focused on emotions and a need for connection as drivers in our lives. Understanding what we need and what others may need from us helps us build a future and forge long-lasting relationships.
Aside from my private practice I have a wealth of experience working with mild to moderate mental health issues with charities across the country, supporting a diverse range of individuals with the above issues, as well as 18 years experience in hospitality and people management which informs my practice.
